We’re excited to announce that we're starting to roll out a new and improved design of the Overleaf editor.

From the beginning, Overleaf's goal has been to bring LaTeX to as many people as possible in an intuitive, user-friendly way. But over time, as we added more powerful features and integrations, our editor started to feel a bit crowded.

So, following extensive user feedback and testing, we've developed a cleaner, less cluttered interface that makes it easier to find and use the tools you need today, while making space for the new features you’ll love tomorrow.

We hope this redesign will ensure Overleaf remains the best place to write your research for years to come.

We are pleased to announce Overleaf Server Pro 5.4.0! This release includes new features, security updates to the base image and installed packages, along with improvements and bug fixes. You can read the full release notes here.

We’re excited to share a range of recently-released updates and new features that will streamline how you search for, import, and cite your references in an Overleaf project if you have access to premium features.

A brief summary of what’s changed:

1. We’ve added an integration with Papers, meaning that if you use Papers as your reference manager, you can now connect it directly to Overleaf, just as you can with Zotero or Mendeley
2. We’ve introduced a more streamlined version of advanced reference search (a premium feature), making it quicker and easier to retrieve the references you need
3. We’ve simplified how Overleaf integrates with external reference managers such as Papers, Zotero and Mendeley, giving you a more flexible, dynamic workflow when managing your references and .bib file

Update: We've released Server Pro 5.3.2 — this is a hotfix release with bugfixes to instances running LDAP (new rate limiters), and access to Overleaf documentation when using a proxy for external requests. You can read the full release notes here.
